What This Recognition Means
The NCPS Recognised Counselling Service scheme provides a framework through which counselling organisations can demonstrate their commitment to safe, ethical and accountable practice.
Pathfinder Therapy CIC’s recognition reflects the standards, policies and governance arrangements submitted as part of the NCPS assessment process.
The recognition does not replace the professional accountability of individual practitioners. Each therapist remains responsible for working within their qualifications, competence, insurance, supervision arrangements and agreed scope of practice.
Our Professional Standards
Pathfinder Therapy CIC maintains a structured clinical and organisational framework designed to support safe and effective service delivery.
-
Clinical assessment and triage

Practitioner suitability
Therapists are expected to hold appropriate qualifications, insurance, professional memberships and supervision arrangements for the work they undertake.
-
Clinical supervision
Practitioners are required to engage in regular clinical supervision appropriate to their caseload, professional role and level of experience.

Ethical practice
Therapeutic work is conducted within clear ethical, relational and professional boundaries.

Individual Practitioner Accountability
NCPS Recognised Counselling Service status applies to Pathfinder Therapy CIC as an organisation.

Individual practitioner profiles identify relevant qualifications, registrations and professional memberships where applicable.
Every practitioner is expected to:
- work within their level of competence
- maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- receive suitable clinical supervision
- comply with Pathfinder Therapy CIC policies
- practise within the ethical requirements of their own professional body
- disclose limitations in training, registration or scope of practice
- refer or signpost clients where another service would be more appropriate
Safeguarding and Complaints
Pathfinder Therapy CIC is committed to responding responsibly to safeguarding concerns, clinical risk, complaints and feedback.
Anyone receiving a service from Pathfinder Therapy CIC has the right to raise a concern or make a complaint.
